I am concerned that if I upgrade to El Capitan the App Store won't download the iPhoto app because of the absence of the "Download' button. However, instead of a "Download" button it has an "Open" button (other apps I have purchased and previously downloaded show a "Download" button). I have gone to the App Store to verify that iPhoto is there - it is. I understand from other threads that I can nevertheless still install El Capitan from the App Store and then, following instructions posted by Terence Devlin on April 14, 2015, go back to the App store and reinstall/download iPhoto. This configuration/model will not support Sierra. I am also still using iPhoto version 9.6.1. I am running Yosemite on a mid-2007 iMac and 4 GB Ram - the max for this model.
